Hiatus/Holiday Thread

Rest is a very underrated thing. So many monkeys drive themselves to distraction. And fail to appropriately process their good ideas.

Bif and I have a lot more to say and plenty of stories to tell. And, if I may speak for him, we hope you all continue to check in and participate during JR’s hiatus.

We’re going to do this at our own pace. Time for a nap.

Yes. Absolutely. I hope JR takes a nice long break.  Physical recovery and mental recalibration through yoga and peyote.

Until then, I guess we are the Northbound Train blog.

  1. Look at that symmetry!

Are you guys the new glimmer twins?

Incidentally, Bif, AU, jim e, et al, I’ve been sifting through the GD archives, ripping everything good from the streamed shows. (The magic trick — as I’m sure you all know — is to grab stuff from the temporary internet file folder before it disappears. Funny how a lot of Deadheads can’t seem to figure that part out.) I finished 1966 a few days ago, and now I’m just about done with 1967. I’m supplementing by reading Blair Jackson’s Garcia book in parallel.

  2. Symmetry jinx. I didn’t realize. Sorry about that. Wait… maybe its iambic pentameter.

  3. JR is gone for a while. Rest is important. Reminds me of some lyrics

    Now he’s Gone
    Lord he’s gone
    Like a steam locomotive
    rolling down the track
    He’s gone

    Nothing left to do but
    smile, smile, smile

And speaking of Lord and rest… Under who’s authority was the Sabbath changed?

  4. dave, i bet she made you eat all your peas before you could go out and play, the she-demon!

  5. dave, i bet she made you eat all your peas before you could go out and play, the she-demon!

    yeah, something like that.

  6. Sitting outside of town.

    Everybody’s always down

    Before

    You

    Can’t

    get

    Up

    Sitting in the waiting room.
